  • Why does everybody hate taking out the garbage? I know it's one of my least favorite things, if only because my garbage can is so far away from my kitchen. Either I time the bag drop to coincide with a trip to my car, or I have to go down a million steps, and back up a million steps, maybe fighting with the garbage can lid, or the cold, or the wet, in the process.

We have it so lucky here in North America. Our cities take away all our garbage for us, and we don't have to see it once it leaves our property. We can pretend like it never even existed.

When there's a holiday, that's when we worry about garbage again. When nobody takes it away, then we get upset. And notice how much garbage we make.
