  • Thad and I have been friends for a few years.

We share a similar passion for starting things, meeting practical needs, caring for people -- all fueled by a deeply seated faith.
We used to spend hours chatting about MBA programs and working together in the non-profit sector. We even dreamt of attending class together.
Those dreams passed with time, but our passions remained.

On a windy day last fall, Thad and I were working on a project together. He was telling me of the incredible new developments within his non-profit. I was trying to listen, but I was amidst a rough week. It was hard to be attentive. He even noted that I seemed down. I brushed his concern away with a few lines and told him to continue.

We finished our conversation in the hotel room I was staying.

Later, I found this note on my nightstand -- followed by a second piece of paper noting that he would be joining as a monthly supporter and a leaper.

Those moments have a way of shaping me and reminding me of what this is all about. They are vivid & beautiful memories...
