  • According to a survey, South Florida is known to have some of the rudest drivers. But I wonder how fair that statement truly is. We have a lot of tourist traffic here. So does that survey take into account our transient population? Or does it mean that the rudest drivers from all over just happen to congregate in South Florida? I dont know the answer to that.

When I'm driving, and if I'm pressed for time, I have to admit to feeling annoyed when someone wants to cut in. But what's the big deal really? Will it save me that much more time by not letting them cut in? What I do know is that when I let them get ahead of me and they don't wave "thanks" I think that's very rude.

Thanking someone is such a simple act. Its free, and takes very little effort! Most everyone wants to be acknowledged and by acknowledging one another we're saying "you matter" and "I appreciate what you did". It's a random act of kindness and if we all practiced it perhaps there wouldn't be any more rude drivers. Anywhere!

So next time someone lets you cut in front of them in traffic.......remember to be kind, and wave your thanks!
