  • The coffee shop is at the Esplanade, an over 55 community in town. It's a busy spot that acts as our Starbucks - comfy chairs and crusty coffee. Lots of mature adults come here for their morning coffee and muffin and after mass on Sunday mornings. The weekend finds Grannies and Gramps with their grandkids having a meal or a sweetie.

Today, the boy and his grandmother invaded the shop about an hour before closing. Leaning on a trident cane, she limped over and shut the blinds to keep the sun out of the boy's eyes. He wore very thick glasses and an owl purse over his shoulder. They ordered and devoured waffles with whipped cream and strawberries and bananas and chocolate sauce with maple syrup for dinner - a thoroughly enjoyable sight.
