  • A very wise friend of mine once suggested the best way to make a huge decision was to consider it from the perspective of future regret.

    • Did we want to give up our house in the beautiful market town of Olney? Not really.

    • Did my wife want to give up her well-paid job in London? Not really.

    • Did we want to live over 5000 miles away from our friends, families and Bob the cat? Not really.

    • If we had looked back on our decision 10 years from now and decided not to move to Shanghai, would we have regretted it? Without a doubt.

So Bronwen and I are now here in Shanghai – been here just over a week as I type this.

Shanghai is noisy, polluted, bewildering, exasperating and congested.
Shanghai is lively, mesmerising, colourful, exciting and ever-changing.

    I bloody love it.

    (and thanks Karen Higgins!)
