  • August 30 1990.....Our second child decides she's had enough she wants to see the world,,,and she wants to see it now! Olivia, peace....our first was c-section 2nd vbac....ha! for those in the know. So MaryAnndrea was 2 and we had our midwife who was 1 hour away. So it was me Mare and Patty (friend). Things were progressing, if you know what I mean. Midwife is one hour away, we called our delivery in advance. I put MaryAnndrea in her crib with some crayons a bepe and coloring books. She was such a good girl.

Remember our first was c-section,,,big blue sheet covered everything. 5000.00 and I had no insurance. We joked we will pay her off when she is 10...she was, we did. So this was really our first at home....dah da dah. So my wife is progressing along and just me and her friend. Val (midwife should have been there by now) So Patty say's don't worry Nancy, Eddie and I will deliver the Baby....I think to myself, speak for your self!!!

    Intensities in 10 cities....

So about now my wife is 5 centimeters...things are getting pretty intense, Then otta no where a mucous plug shoots like a cannon across the room, and the Mississippi gates are opened. I went from 3 feet away from my wife to one inch my eye right next to hers. You see i figured if I concentrated on her face all that business down there would end......Not!!

Val is really late and da baby is coming now. My wife is about to deliver, I check on my Daughter in her room and she is sleeping. I am crawling out of my skin. Just then Val and her assistant come in. I breathe a sigh of relief....ahhh. She was behind a Student semi-truck driver and they were working on 90 so only one lane arrrgh!! I help with her stuff. Then i go into the kitchen and make a big glass of iced tea....ahhhh

So i had told Val i was gonna catch the baby...I chickened out, she delivered her I held her from womb to my wife's tummy. As soon as i placed her om Nancy's tummy i sat right next to her and i started to cry. Nancy started to laugh hysterically. Juxtaposition.

I had never seen anything so beautiful in all my life. My daughter being born. The majesty of God. I went and bought my wife some roses. Red ones. She did such a good job, I was so proud of her! Olivia June I love you! That was one of the most awe-inspiring days of my life. A year later when my wife was breast feeding Lou she looked into
her eyes and said ugh oh another "Eddie"!
