  • My family and I are on vacation in Mexico and resting beneath a palapa on a particularly hot April Fool's day when we see this giant moth on the interior of the palapa roof.

Easily, the moth stretches the length of my hand from tip to tip; it is a giant. We name him Mothra and salute his impressiveness by raising him to the status of Superhero of the Palapa.

He brings us luck and is celebrated with several Dos Equis and a well salted margarita as we gaze at his beauty while lying in our bathing suits considering the ocean waves and the afternoon sunshine.

Mothra; lucky vacation superhero and magnificently handsome April Fool's moth.
