  • Sadie is a good looking dog. She's also affectionate, rubbing up against anyone nearby.

She loves to play. Frolic. Run around like a bat out of hell. Think about that phrase. A bat, flying as fast as it can, trying to escape the bowels of hell. But I suppose that doesn't really describe Sadie when she plays. No. She's more reminiscent of an athlete, pushing herself to her physical limits for some personal reason known only to her.

She speeds around the backyard, stopping only to dig holes. There's also these rare moments when her curiosity is piqued. She stops and simply looks around.

This picture is of one of those rare moments. I was visiting my parents for the Passover holiday. I spent Saturday afternoon chasing Sadie around with a camera. I suppose I didn't need to chase. She was off and running from the moment the back door opened.

I happened to catch one of these rare moments on film. I guess the settings on the camera were off, as the overexposure was not intentional.

As Sadie stares at the world, the world stares at Sadie.

What was she looking at? Me? Something behind me? We'll never know.
