  • I just wrote about that Dutchie boy of '55 and thought, how silly really. Why should we care how we look compared to others, but we do don't we? And why should I write about something so trivial, so long ago?

I get it that we enter this world with open wondrous inquiring eyes. We just do and we are just ourselves. Then we learn.

We get told what to do and what not to do by those with the wisdom - ie. our parents, teachers etc. We learn to behave and dress the same to avoid incurring the wisdom from the oldies. We learn to conform and conformation is rewarded.

I love to travel as it exposes me to different cultures and values and exposes my foibles. Yes there is conformity over there as well, but some are also proudly themselves.

Here is a lady (Cuzco, Peru) surrounded by tourists but she is she and proudly so. I can learn from her eyes - I also can learn to be me, proudly.
