  • I think if i were writing this by hand, I would have gone through about 100 sheets of paper trying to find the perfect way to start my first story. With my digital wastebasket overflowing with first attempts, I have decided to come to you without a witty or head-turning opener. I come to you with an open mind and open hands, ready to take in all the stories people have to share.

I am sitting in the library of my high school in Singapore. Sheets of heavy tropical rain pour down from the dark clouds, producing a familiar rhythm of pitter-patter on the window beside me. I sit, with the unfortunately frequent feeling of disinterest for my math and chemistry homework, and I continue on the path of procrastination on which i am bound to remain.

I have come to the point in my high school career where i have to start thinking about my future- a truly frightening thought. The concept that i will one day have to leave my parent's comfortable, problem free household and fend for myself is daunting, to say the least. As much as it is disheartening, it is also thrilling. The hardest part is having to choose what i actually want to do. There are so many things that i am interested in, that i feel i would be letting part of myself down if i didn't do them all.

I'm trying to figure out what my boots were made for- hopefully sharing my stories will help me do just that.
