  • The people that know me best have been sufficiently schooled in what makes a great snow globe in my opinion, such as my daughter. Important aspect of snow globe buying is price (for those who just don’t take them), one of the great things about snow globes in the past was they were cheapest souvenirs there were. This has changed. Nevertheless, if you’re buying snow globe for me, you can do no wrong getting the cheapest one you see. But, if you have a choice, get the most over-the-top one, one not made with cheap lazy plastic, like with just a plastic slat inside with a decal. No, get one like this.

My mom took my valedictorian niece on a Mediterranean cruise for her high school graduation, and she brought me back a bunch of excellent globes, Monaco, Pisa, Turkey, Sicily. She obviously had put thought and effort into her choices. But this one of Santorini, is one of my two best snow globes of all. It has flashing lights! A dolphin’s fin broke off by the time she gave it to me, but I still love it! And I don't think the fact that both of my two favorite snow globes were gifts.
