    When Michael was perhaps a five years old, he was totally and completely captured with Power Rangers, Transformers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All seemed extreme and based on violence to me.

    At the time I was working with a psychologist who was also the CEO of a children's hospital. I took advantage of my proximity to someone who had studied this 'stuff' and asked her what she thought about all of it.

    She thought it was natural and acceptable. She saw it all as a way for children to learn about and experience archetypal wisdom...through these larger than life stories.

    I like having the door of my mind opened through someone another's view. It's liberating. I'll consider...

    Oh, BTW, despite my current view, I have started reading Catching Fire...

    No matter what I think, it's important to me to stay in touch with Michael. And be able to be in the conversation. That REALLY matters. The rest is just detail and opinion.
