  • I have a 16 year old son who appreciates clothes. I used to love to buy clothes for him but suddenly about 3 years ago he just didn't seem to like anything I purchased. So after too many trips back to the stores to make returns, now we either shop together or I get him gift cards.

Today he was off from school and was sleeping in and then going to the beach with friends. I had errands to do and decided I would get things out of the way while he was sleeping. Just as I was about to leave he wakes up.

He informs me that he needs a new bathing trunk and was looking for a specific t-shirt to wear to the beach today. I was in a hurry to leave and he hadn't even wiped the sleep out of his eyes so after a brief conversation we decided that I would go solo. I told him I would text photos of items and he could either say "yay" or "nay".

I was amused to hear that the t-shirt he was looking for was a Guy Harvey t-shirt. I was taken aback! Guy Harvey t-shirt??? Go figure! No offense intended but that just conjures up an image of an overweight middle-aged man with a beer can in one hand and fishing rod in the other.

Nonetheless, I run into one store and come out empty-handed. They had a few Guy Harvey t-shirts but only in LARGE and X-LARGE. Hmmm.....there goes the image of the overweight middle-aged man. By a fluke, I decide to go to an outlet store across the parking lot. Lo and behold.... not only do they have Guy Harvey t-shirts, but they have several in size, SMALL! So I snap a few photos and text them to my son. Within seconds, he texts me back with his choice and VOILA!!! Mission accomplished!

Simple and easy! We've discovered a new way to shop, by texting!
