  • I told my friend Leslie that I often doodle as a way to start my day. Leslie, who's a wife, mother of three (two humans, one canine) and business owner, found it hilarious that I had so much time in the morning. She really lost it when I told her that I did it while listening to the Harvard Business Review on my ipod.

During the last 20 years of my corporate life I've always doodled. I've doodled while listening to boring webinars, doodled while sitting on excruciatingly long conference calls and doodled during meetings when it was either that or suffer a slow and painful death by PowerPoint. I guess it's one of the creative ways I've learned to combine business with pleasure. Call it multi-tasking the artist-with-a-day-job way.
