  • In retrospect, one remembers what she always found odd. His body rarely exuded a natural warmth worth snuggling up to. Tepid was the furthest it could reach. I recall my skin in shivers, as per usual, through layers of fabric. It's as though my body was fighting its way through, looking to find warmth and comfort in this touch. A serenity in a warm soul and body. But his being--his physical being--always felt cold. As did mine, permanently cold-natured. We were like two sardines on ice waiting for warm hands to snatch us up.
