I was helping out a local class of 4th graders learning about the history of our town. I was the 'guest' of the day, a local photographer available to answer any questions the kids might have had about taking photos and documenting their impressions.
We were at the improvement center - the original one room school house of our town. Just before we left and headed back to the school I saw some kids iphone on the desk. It sat next to one of the original students classwork chalk boards.
Pretty soon iPads will be prevalent in school's, helping students learn, take notes, complete assignments. 200 years ago... this chalk board completed that function. Math problems, geometry, doodling and entertainment. The best place to let your mind escape while the teacher drones on.
If technology suddenly disappeared, would this would return? Probably.
As i took this picture I giggled at the idea - 'this is the iPad 5 - back to basics'
