  • Some six months ago I stumbled upon a guy who was offering Vodka tastings at London's Selfridges. the vodka tasted great and when I asked him for its origin he replied it was a Polish vodka. Having recently purchased a bottle of the premium Polish vodka 'Belvedere', I shared with the guy my impression that the vodka he had just given me tasted much better. When he heard my comment, the guy started jumping of joy. Apparently he was the manufacturer of the vodka - 'Konik's tail' its name, and was delighted to hear that I found his product superior to the well respected brand. I too was happy to see such reaction and joy.

Yesterday I entered a liquor shop in Soho, looking for some brandy. In the shop was a stand offering vodka tasting. The bottles looked familiar and I asked the salesman if it was possible that it was an independent vodka from Poland. He said it was. I told the salesman my experience from six months ago, how I found this vodka to be so good and how happy I made its producer. And there, behind me, was the guy again, standing and smiling, and thanking me again:) I bought a bottle.
