  • My mother has a knack for instilling the oddest fears in her children. In an effort to prevent me from chewing my nails, she advised the swallowed chips are seeds which germinate inside of my stomach when they attach themselves to swallowed chewing gum, (we have all in our time accidentally swallowed chewing gum) resulting in a little plant seedling that will eventually grow into a tree. Leaving me a tree person.

Not sure if I was making this story up in my head or if it was part of a dream I had as a child, I asked my mother if it was true. She replied, "Yeah, I told you that." I then asked why she would tell me something like that. Her rebuttal, "I thought it was funny."
