  • I was walking around Barcelona, just a sort of random tour around the gothic quarter with my friend who was from the area. We wove through narrow streets, saw where Ferdinand and Isabel received Christopher Columbus, saw a fountain with the shield of St. Jordi, a door designed by Subirachs. He's the guy who took over the construction of the Sagrada Familia when Gaudí died.

Then there was this door to a shop that was closed. A request to be hit with music. What a delightful little request. A demand for joy, but delivered in a violent way. I like the thought of that. A car crash to make us feel happy. A beating to get us to heaven.
