  • I am a creature of habit. I like things to run smoothly in the mornings:
    Up at 4:50
Get ready for work (many steps and most done half-asleep).
    Out the door 5:50
Drive for a blissful half-hour along winding back roads, past the apple orchards, the horse farm, the Sudbury River (hoping to find no squished wildlife on the road) and then onto the Mass Pike into Cambridge for the less blissful end of the journey.
    At work 6:45
Settle myself in my office - first one in, as usual, hang up coat, turn on computer, grab my Tiana mug and mosey to kitchen for coffee.
    Moseying to kitchen 6:50
Only this morning there was a hole in the coffee station where MY favorite coffee USUALLY sits. What? I ransack the kitchen cabinets for a stash of my favorite dark roast, but I can't find any. Now if we had only an espresso machine like I requested so a person can get a decent cup of coffee in the morning not a stupid pod that doesn't even sound like it should be used to brew coffee and what about when we have guests from Europe who appreciate a good cup of coffee not like this crap we serve them... I grab a substitute burnt roast pod and shove it into the machine, jam the button and listen to the water squirting pathetically into my cup, sounding like the watered down piss it will taste like. Happy Friday.
