  • Only some days and some places gift you whit an orange sky. I'm not talking about the ones you see on sunsets or dawns. This are different orange skys, this are the ones resulting from a dens populated area and a casted sky during night.
I love this kind of skys. I think they can give a sense of apocalypse, of an arriving disaster. Often this skys are anticipating a thunderstorm or a heavy snow.
Orange skys make you be part of the human race, they predict the future. Orange skys delimit the boundaries between what is the mankind domain and the nature.
Human race has only in the last years been aware of light pollution, and orange skys exist regularly since large scale illumination was developed. Before the concept of metropolis orange skys existed only in extraordinary occasions: when a vast part of your surroundings where on fire, at night, and the smoke reflected the orange light of flames.

Orange sky, you shine your light from above when the moon is shy.

This is why I decided to compose a song about orange skys.
You can find this song here: http://walkingmountains.bandcamp.com/

The photo was taken in NY on the waterfront facing NJ.
