  • We shared dreams of love that morning, as the stars faded to washed out jellyfish while the horizon caught flame and spouted fiery tears upon an inverted lagoon.

    We breathed out whispers in careful anticipation.

    The waterline would rise and bop and curve in over itself while kissing the barrier that held it at bay. All the whilst our anticipation would build and build and build barriers between us.

    I worded irrelevance with all the relevance that I could muster.

    The pounding of the party had lost its gravitas as the pounding of our hearts gained in volume.
    I never heard hers but the pupils of her eyes would dilate & contract in sullen regularity.

    Her lips would bleed nonsense while her body told intimate stories.

    There was a want crowding our duplicit solitude. Loud and discordant and yet so far from being loud enough. As we looked to each other searching for more than obviousness in movements or words.

    We saw each other but never trusted what we saw.
