  • when i was four, i saw my first movie. i recall my inability see anything since the seats were so high and that midway through the film, everyone stood up.

    but it could not have been; i was just confusing the end with the middle.

    but even now, a part of me insists that my memory of the strange halfway break was real.

    when the good folk of Dayton heard that a butterfly convention was coming to town, the stores all along main street put out butterfly decorations. whether this was to entice us or welcome us is unknown, but the effect was minimal.

    despite the hospitality of our host town, we we spent the days traveling the dusty Blue Mountains and spent the evenings huddled in our meeting space talking lepidoptera.
