  • While those who identified themselves as the 99% occupied Zuccotti Park near Wall Street, I was across the Hudson river occupying the Brooklyn Marriott on Adams Street.

While they stood in line hoping to get a free slice of "Occu-Pie," wondering if it would be enough to hold them over until morning, I took the elevator up to the President's Club lounge to get a free plate of appetizers (or two,) wondering if I was hungry enough to come back later when they brought out the free Haagen-Dazs.

While they stretched out on the cardboard covered ground in sleeping bags under tents, tarps and trash bags, I stretched out on a high thread-count covered king-sized bed and tried to get comfortable among my six down-filled pillows.

Before drifting off to sleep each night, I imagine we all gazed out at the New York sky with our minds occupied by the same troubling question- "Am I making a difference here, or simply wasting my time?"
