    On the periphery of street politics, there is just the street. And on the street life happens. Vendors peddle their wares, coffee gets sipped, and little boys get lost.

    When they do, sometimes they end up like this little boy--hand in hand with the riot police looking for their mommies.

    That's when the riot police take off their helmets, put down their shields, and give a little comfort to a scared child. That's when they are no longer just an arm of the state, but people who care.
