  • We're free, in a place that is always and only chaos, congestion, flashing lights, noise of throngs and horns and hawkers. But today the streets are closed, 20,000 runners coming through, the only noise is the cheers for our effort: “you got this, Sarah!” and “way to go, Garcia!”. They're yelling my name too. Urging me on. They let me know, more than my legs that feel strong or the refreshment I get from the water along the course, that I will make it to the finish line. Times Square is right before me and I'm halfway there.
