  • I was half asleep and my head was screaming this list I needed to remember. I wanted to sleep longer so I laid really still and hoped I could ignore it but still remember it when I was ready to wake up. The thought of forgetting worried me too. I had a half dream where I was looking at a wolf dog that was sitting on some steps, but he barely fit because they were small wooden steps coming off a house. I don't know where I was situated but I saw my hand in front of me shaping itself like it was pretending to be an animal face (you know, thumb under the other fingers pressed together, simulating talking). The dog was intrigued and I noticed when I closed the "mouth" my thoughts got calmer and so did the dog. And then the dog WAS my thoughts so I held my hand very pointedly in his direction and shushed him and he dropped his head and closed his eyes. And then I slept a little. Until I dreampt that B was tickling the back of my neck and I couldn't breathe and so I couldn't tell him to stop and I collapsed in a pile but all connected like one of those toy animals you press on the bottom of and then woke up gasping.
