  • Jaded youth feels the strain of age
    Desperately clinging, clawing
    Onto matchless beauty.
    A gaping wound roars,
Ripped open from a single scratch.

I grovel and beg respite for us
From the rancid rot and waste time brings
Starcrossed lovers, deaths written in fates entwined.

Agonies of loss sprung from inaction
Friends stayed too long by pensive thoughts
    Gossamer threads, too easily broken
Too fragile for the cold outside,
Too vain to voice what’s in their hearts.

    All around us broken fools,
Shattered, ravaged, torn before their time
I will stumble, trip, and fall
But pick me up, resume the fight
I will remain silent no more.

Let me drop into the depths of a drunken sea
I’ll pierce the glare that seized my breath from me.
