  • My oldest daughter is away in Italy right now for her third year at university learning about other cultures and people and life. But when she was about 8 years old she climbed up in a big, comfy, chair we had and leaned back into my arms to share a moment.

    "Yes?" I say.

"Why do people hate each other?"

"I don't know. Maybe they are angry in their hearts and don't understand how to be kind."

"Mama, I want people to love each other like I love you and Kitty."

"That's a whole lotta love isn't it Sweet Pea?"

"It is. It's like all the beautiful things in the world put into one place; like a museum filled with Kitty Love. If everyone was surrounded by our type of love then maybe there wouldn't be hate or war or mean people any more."

I snuggle closer to her and say, "I think you are right. Kitty Love is the cure."
