  • i have been looking forward to these days since last november! finally my commute will consist of bike helmet, rolled-up pant leg and my bike.

    this is actually a replacement bike for the one i had for almost 15 years. wish i had a picture of that one... friend from work said to me upon seeing me on that bike, "when's your next chinese food delivery." it wasn't the most beautiful bike: all the gears didn't shift without dropping the chain, brakes were rusty, seat was ripped. i used to leave it out all winter, in the rain and snow (no room in cramped nyc apartment). still, it thawed out in the spring and with some air in the tires and some grease on the gears, man and machine worked together seamlessly to get from point A to point B.
