  • i snuck up on her
she did not see me peeping
i worshiped her, paid homage with my eyes
    saw the peace of dreams
still a soft dew on her face
the radiant shadow of her loving moon
    still aglow beneath her skin

and when she opened her eyes to the sky
I saw a moment of doubt
    vulnerable, unwilling beauty
    rapture too painful to hide
    and I became undone
    tears spilling into my palms
I bit my lip to keep from discovery

    but then a spark, flickered
began to dance gently in her womb
and a secret smile settled on her lips

    I did not turn away
    when she blazed supernova
    her fate accepted

    I wanted that smile
to be the last thing these eyes held
