  • One day, no different from any other day, I decided I would change the way I wrote my k's. I had accidentally stumbled upon the making of this letter while in the throws of journaling. Somewhere from my unconscious sprang this newly formed creature, a hybrid of cursive and manuscript. I liked it so much I wanted to keep it around for good.

I'm not sure why I decided to make such a deal out of this. I know I have other things in my life that require my focus and are worthy of far greater attention than retraining my muscles and mind to do a seemingly pointless endeavor, but I did. Over time, I did train my hand and brain. It appears you can teach an old dog new tricks.

When in a flurry or rush, every now and again the wagon wheel ruts of my subconscious will slide into default mode and I will write my k's the "old way". But I take the time to erase it and move on, forming the letter to my liking. I can do that, you know. I can make change and then I can make some more.
