  • Week 11: guitar mania.

I'm not really a guitarist, in the sense of an Eric Clapton, George Harrison, or Eddie Van Halen. Heck, I'm probably not even as good as Eddie Vedder. But I can write on it, and I can play a little. This song was written using my uncle Jim's old Peavey guitar, a Strat copy in cherry red. Unfortunately, it's not as in shape as it should be, and during recording it kept coming in and out. Useless in terms of making a recording. So it's gotta go to the shop to see if it's worth saving or if it becomes art. :)

On the plus side, my recording samples include various guitars, including chords, leads, and rhythm sounds. I used a couple of those to complete this track about good friends and a shared time together. The inspiration for this week's piece was a video sent to me by an old friend from an online forum. It's not meant for public consumption - heck, most people wouldn't even understand it. Nonetheless, that's what started the whole thing. It led into memories of school friends and crazy times we had, and there you go.

Hope you all enjoy it. Me, I'm gonna kick back and think about those old friends. :)
