  • looking out the window through a space between buildings that sheds sky. i can almost see my childhood. when i was, as a whole, a child. being; body and mind. this scene, right here, this morning, reminds me of hunting.
    dad, your alarm ringing, we get up and wash our faces in our long-johns, then go to the kitchen where you drink coffee and make stories with breakfast. i sit and listen to the sacredness of existence. where i was was everything. and then we'd put on our camouflaged hunting suits and step out into the wilderness, where we'd walk with guns.

    frost covered grass
    animal sounds
    walking slow
    making almost no sound
    being aware

    i only wanted to be there
    i was only there
    with that

    and now this morning's getting brighter. all clouds do this. by the time you notice. not fade. disappear.
