  • Can a song help shape a life? Or does the song serve as the emblem of a chosen life?

My memory of the start of Dylan's "Queen Jane Approximately" is something like this:"When your mother sends back all your invitations/and your father to your sister explains/that you're tired of yourself and all of your creations/won't you come see me Queen Jane"

Is this noble or pathetic? Do tears contain erections? Do stirrings of the heart ripple out through all the limbs and beyond? Quixote confused knighthood and pathology, why not me? Whose breath do we notice inhaling and to whom do we send our sighs? The frightening thrilling territory of open boundaries, open wounds, open hearts. Now my turn to comfort you, as we dissolve and I get as I give, my strength able to support our temporary annihilation.
