  • Isn't it strange how a room changes when you have packed up all your belongings?

    Isn't it strange how nostalgic you get about a place you have lived in just as you are about to move out, even if you never really liked it in the first place? Even if you spent the whole 7 months of living in it searching for another place?

    Perhaps we get that way about relationships that we are walking away from, about children leaving the home, about countries we have emigrated from... Change is big and frightening, even when we really want it. We all need a moment to look back and remember only the good bits. And then we move on.

    My dear Cowbird friends: There will be a little break here in my story reading and writing, until the Fibre Optic Gods see fit to connect our new house to the 21st century.
