  • My great friend Josie and I were at the New York Botanical Gardens on March 13. It was an awesome day, friend-wise, weather-wise, flora-wise.

The annual orchid show is what drew us to this urban oasis. Josie had never been. Temps were close to 70F. A perfect day for meandering.

After walking through the awesome orchid display in the Haupt Conservatory, we were walking through the fields. It is a bit early for spring growth but we came upon this early, tiny crocus budding. This warm winter in the northeast has confused everyone...including our harbingers of spring.

I was taking snaps of the beautiful purples and whites when I chanced upon our friend the bee. Busily gathering up early pollen and helping with pollination, I was happy.

Just happened to be at the right spot at the right time. I hope that this is a positive sign of the abundance of our spring and summer months.
