  • The Barton Creek Greenbelt is my little happy place in Austin. As often as I’m able, I go hiking there alone. When evening falls, I climb up to my favorite lookout point and watch the sun set behind the horizon.

The experience is restorative. Up there, I’m not obligated to accommodate any other members of my own species. I’m free. I have room to think. I talk to God.

It’s where I go to reclaim my soul from the usual busyness of life.
