  • I've been feeling extra tired lately. A little burnt out.

    I'm a great believer in simple things being restorative. Water, air, nutrition, rest.

    When I think about how things grow and how full of nutrients they are, how our bodies use them and take goodness from everything to fuel and fix us, how the simple action of chopping and sprinkling and eating something tasty calms the mind and satisfies the senses, food sometimes seems genuinely something that can never be simple. It's all a bit of a chemical miracle really.

    Tomatoes, garlic, lemon and olive oil are supposed to be good for the adrenal system to help with fatigue. I don't know how true that is but they're full of good nutrition anyway and any kind of boost is beneficial.

    Plus bruschetta tastes like summer evenings. That's a bonus mood boost.

    A simple supper? Maybe not so simple then. But then neither are we humans.
