  • I've been madly painting. It takes me a long time to complete a complicated painting. The first image shows one of my new pages for Frankie and Noah have a Party, by San Cassimally, who wrote, for another book (of his), some of the words, and by me, who wrote the rest of the words and made the illustrations. And am still making them.

    The second image shows a detail from the painting.
  • The whole book is written in "verse." Here is the text for the illo on page 1:

    Rosa and her son, Reuben Rabbit
    came bouncing, as was their habit,
    on a blue pogo stick
    that was supple and quick
    with red footgrips and handgrips to grab it.
  • The party evolved toward some rip-roaring fun
    They played musical chair out under the sun
    and tied tails to donkeys, had contests and won;
    everyone cheered to watch racers run.
    Then they grilled hot dogs until they were done,
    added ketchup and mustard to warm toasted buns.
  • There are more still more illos to go. When they are done, we will make the book available.

    Have a terrific holiday, those who celebrate. Enjoy spring!
