  • Depression. It always sits with you, sometimes quietly in the back of your mind, sometimes it's all you can think about. Having a day more like the latter, I shyly asked a friend for a hug. He smelled faintly of cigarette smoke and of something I can only describe as "boy". It was so refreshing to touch another person. Depression sometimes makes me feel like I'm wading through treacle. To reach out and touch someone from beyond that is a nice reminder that I'm not alone. We're not alone.
