  • I stopped by the side of the road to take this photo yesterday, because the mountains looked so large and majestic and beautiful. When I got home and downloaded my shots, my shoulders slumped a little, because the mountains had lost their imposing beauty in my photo. I thought that it might be a good metaphor for life: that which seems large when in the moment, seems smaller from a distance. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately, and somehow this photo and the thought that accompanies it is comforting. This too shall pass. In time, today's troubles will seem trifling. And I am grateful.
