  • The Kibera slum in Nairobi is one of the largest in Africa housing over 100,000 people in roughly the size of Central Park. Women and young girls in particular, are some of the slums most vulnerable residents. But an organization called the Initiative for Sports and Social Arts in Kibera (ISSA) began the first all-girl soccer team there to promote female empowerment and education. Meet the 'Orlando Babes.'
