  • Staring at the the empty canvas or in this case the empty boards brings to mind all the pre-existing, pre-established Clichés connected with the steriotypical painter battling his inner demons when starting the process of an immortal masterpiece.

    The weight of expectation can be daunting and I've been staring for days on end at the blank boards stretched across my studio, waiting for that spark of inspiration, that sudden moment when everything falls into place and you visualize the finished work.

    Things just don't work like that!

    The empty canvas can also be considered a bit of a metaphore for life.

    In art and in life you can't be restrained by these Clichés!

    Sometimes you just have to dig deep and get to work.
