  • Took a walk by the harbour today, right ear on fire, a migraine making my head feel like a pulsing disc. Can't see anything when the mind is raided by pain like that. I took deep breaths, imagining the oxygen replenishing every cell of my body. The sea air helped some. At least the rain had stopped after last night's storm...the rumble of thunder still echoing through my body.

Through the lens of the migraine, everything was off kilter. The sun seemed aggressive. A black cat slunk across the street and dragged itself straight up a stone wall. The feeling of claws on granite stayed with me all day. My coffee was like a shot of sugar, the internet wasn't working, and was that the waiter looking at me strangely?

Later by the water, I spotted something dark. A box or casket of some sort. An underwater treasure? Lost pirate loot? It sat there on the bottom of the sea floor, open and spilling out all the strange curios of the world.
