  • I only heard about the Leap Year Project after the leap day. I liked the concept but I thought I was too staid, settled, cowardly, conservative ... (fill in the missing adjective) to attempt it myself. I still thought that writing was a hobby, that storytelling was something I needed to apologise for, that I needed to contribute to the family income, that I needed to be a serious business person.

But you know what? I have woken up. I cannot go back to that life. I am going to write my heart out, regardless. I am not kidding myself that it will be easy. I have a lot of people to convince. I may have occasional lapses into so-called sanity.

But when you leap off a cliff, you sometimes do get to defy gravity.

What a difference a week makes!
