  • As I reflect, I wonder about the most gracious way to move through these next many months of whatever-we-wish-to-call the national 'conversation' for election of a human to the role of president.

President of The United States of Amerca (POTUS) is a role that impacts so much more than those of us who live in the US of A. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, it impacts every human and all life and living systems on Earth of which humans are a part.

Had they been able to foresee today, I'm truly wonder whether the originators of our democratic process would have been able to account for the magnitude of impact that a single human (and a few hundred others in a most likely dissenting Congress) could have on our whole global system.

We need to look at the SYSTEM for our future more than any one surely and inevitably fallible human. Our ultimate demise will come from the romantic expectation that a single human can come forth and lead us. As I see it, we are beyond a time when any one human, no matter how wise and well-intentioned, can lead the world as a whole.

And, having said all of that, there is Justin Trudeau. But it's tongue-in-cheek. As I suspect he, too, is human.
