  • Sometimes it is just hot, so hot and so much light that even the small animals hide wherever they can catch some shade. Nothing much seems to be happening, but heat. Some animals are eaten by others. Some trees are felled. Some wives are beaten and some men take a course in family violence and stop beating their wives. The ocean is so hot that many algae die and then the birds who eat this algae die and for the longest time just some scientists notice.

There is so much sun burning down on the worlds that you wonder if there might be any meaning to it. You just sweat in the shade and drink as much water as you can and hope for the evening.

Then, when evening comes, suddenly and just for a very short time, the sky is painted in gorgeous colors, birds fly and sing and chatter, crickets sing, pople return home in their boats and the sky turns into a beautiful painting. Mystery is written there. And you think that, maybe, just maybe, there is a hidden meaning to so much emptiness and suffering, because for a moment you can recognize BEAUTY!
