  • Unemployed at 65, financial worries, what will tomorrow bring, will our age make a difference? My heart knows the truth of prosperity. My head hears and hangs on to the fear filled illusions of “the real world.” Lately, I’ve been deep in it, that huge, gaping ‘never been close to anybody hole’ trying to find the getting better place. Lately, it seems everywhere is somewhere I’m too scared to be. I feel so tangled up I don’t know how to get smooth again. But everyday is a choice. So I am deciding to take this lonesome life and bathe it clean until it glistens like polished white china. No more hanging on tomorrow, waiting out today. I’m melting my misery into music and making love to the moment with each slow, sliding step. I hear the voices of my fellow cowbirders singing across the distances. I will dance to those melodies.
