  • I always thought
    I would die
    from a brain aneurysm.
    And I guess
    that remains to be seen.
    My father, grandfather,
    and great grandfather all did.
    I've had migraines
    two mri's and white matter.

    Wasn't thinking
    I'd die
    from a heart problem.
    But now,
    it's become abundantly clear
    that it is a
    distinct possibility.

    My condition
has a fair percentage of recovery and overall
    low mortality rate.
    But if not
    managed well
    and repeated
    due to ongoing stress
    the likelihood
    of heart failure exists.

    Ongoing stress -
    How many times
    have I written about that
    on cowbird?

    A lot.

    Got to work
    to keep health insurance.
    Not just for me
    but for my son.

    Forget the Affordable Care Act.

    I'm a medical social worker
    and have way
    too much experience with that
    to think it's a possibility.
    There is insurance
but no doctors to take it.
    Well ... don't
    get me started on that.

I am thinking of options. Options....Hmmm.
    Do I have options?
